Eagles fans, we are reborn tomorrow. Rising from the ashes of the doo doo playoff game. And we get to be reborn playing against a team without a name. I would be lying if I didn’t say that I have some concerns heading into the game. Let’s do a little breaking down shall we?
Offenses:
The Eagles will go as far as the offensive line allows them to go. That could be one quarter or it could be a playoff run. Washington should have a good day with their defensive line against some of the holes along the Philadelphia unit. However, I think that Wentz has excelled in getting the ball out quick and we know that he is better outside of the pocket. The Eagles speed will cause major issues tomorrow. Reagor, Jackson and Hightower should open up the field for Sanders and the Tight Ends.
Football Team is being lead by Haskins and company. Terry McLaurin is by far their most skilled player. Unless there was major progression at the key offensive positions, then it shouldn’t be too strenuous of a day for the Eagles D.
Advantage: Eagles
Defenses:
Washington has an underrated pass rush. They have invested heavily into it during the early rounds of the past few drafts. Chase Young is a SCARY talent. The secondary will be a hole. We know what Darby is. He could be a piece of toast by 1:10PM tomorrow. The Football Team is going to be coached well defensively by Rivera and Del Rio.
The Eagles interior pass rush should be solid. I still worry about the health of Barnett. The linebacker position is another worry, which is a fair criticism. They do not have one proven player at the position. I know that they are worthy special teams members, but it needs to translate into defensive play. I am excited to see Darius Slay. He is the answer at CB that we have been waiting for. I feel confident in this statement.
Advantage: Eagles, very slightly.
Special Teams: It comes down to the kickers and I will take Elliot over Hopkins.
Advantage: Birds
Prediction: This game does make me nervous because there are so many unknown factors going into it. I am going to say that the Eagles offense is going to click. I like big games from Jackson and Reagor. I believe that we will see why the Eagles valued him so highly on draft day. Miles Sanders will will be the steady force that the offense needs. Give me the Birds to get win one on the year.
